Every day a different New Zealand
New Zealand remains an unspoiled paradise waiting to be discovered. Be awestruck by stunning Alps, volcanoes, fjords, native forest, and perfect beaches. Trek through the engulfing wilderness and breathe in the backdrops made famous on the silver screen.
Whether you stay in a luxurious oceanside villa, a majestic mountain lodge, or a cozy campsite, you're sure to find your paradise in New Zealand.
New Zealand Things to Do
Go “black water rafting” in the North Island’s Waitomo Caves in the Waikato region or test out bungee jumping which was invented here.
Catch a rugby game with some of New Zealand’s die-hard fans. There are signs of the sport at every corner, whether it’s a young boy perfecting his kick at the park or a proud supporter wearing his team’s shirt to the mall.
Experience Maori culture—meet the local people and enjoy a hangi feast cooked in earth ovens. Maori make up 14% of the population and their history, language and traditions are central to New Zealand’s identity.
Explore the Franz Josef Glacier on a guided walk to fit any skill level. Hike to a choice of lookout points for a bigger view of this awesome river of ice.
Savor a glass of wine on the Classic New Zealand Wine Trail through stunning scenery, parks, nightlife and more, with the opportunity to taste and shop at more than 120 cellar doors, as well as a multitude of vineyard restaurants and cafés
Bask in a healing geothermal hot tub, or see more of the activity in Rotorua with geysers, hot springs, boiling mud pools and hissing craters.
Paddle your way through Maori rock carvings on a kayak through Lake Taupo or test your skills on the fresh water of the Whanganui River with a few rapids.
See one of Kaikoura’s resident whales through a guided boat tour. In fact, Kaikoura, on the east coast of the South Island, is one of the only places in the world where you can easily see sperm whales.
Experience the real Middle-earth by visiting the Hobbiton Movie Set, featured in The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit films. Over 150 locations were used in the movies.
4,300 square kilometers of New Zealand’s South Island are recognized as an International Dark Sky Reserve, making it home to some of the most accessible observatories in the world for viewing constellations and shooting stars.

As the owner of Luxury Travel Destinations in Winston Salem I help my clients plan extraordinary and unforgettable vacation experiences. Every traveler has a picture of what his or her dream vacation looks like. My job is to make that dream a reality! Having been an agent for over 20 years, I’ve helped plan hundreds of vacations but some of my absolute favorite types of trips to book are luxury river cruises to Europe and China. River cruising is truly one of the best ways to experience Europe because, historically, all of the major cities were developed on rivers. Arriving directly in the city center, you get to experience all of the highlights of Europe while only having to unpack once. Add to that, luxury accommodations, delicious dining options and endless amounts of pampering and you have the perfect European getaway! My favorite city to visit over and over again is Amsterdam. The beautiful canals surrounded by years and years of history are absolutely magnificent. River cruises often end or begin in Amsterdam so I always suggest my clients spend a few extra days there to have the chance to see all the city has to offer. A trip to the Rijksmuseum and the Anne Frank house are must-sees at this port. If you’ve already had the wonderful opportunity to experience a European river cruise or are perhaps looking to expand your travel horizons further, I highly suggest river cruising in China. These river cruises have gained immense popularity over the years and for good reason. While sailing down the Yangtze River, travelers will take in the untouched beauty of China’s landscape on their way to historic ports. Every port during a Chinese river cruise provides visitors with a chance to experience years of history and culture. With an opportunity to see the terracotta army in Xian and the Great Wall in Beijing, visitors are guaranteed the trip of a lifetime. However, not all historical destinations are easily accessible in port. For those travelers looking to expand their river cruise, I recommend participating in a land tour. I’ve helped book a number of these unique land tours for past clients and would be happy to provide my top recommendations! Throughout the years I have so enjoyed working as a travel agent in North Carolina. My clients know that I will help design the perfect travel experience that fulfills all their travel needs while ensuring that every detail of the trip is taken care of. I’ve created so many unforgettable vacations for my clients and look forward to learning how we can make your next trip the best one yet!
